Arsenal Are Considering Surprise £21.7M Bid For 12 Goal Paraguayan They First Targeted TEN YEARS Ago

Arsenal are weighing up an approach for Torino striker Antonio Sanabria, according to reports in the Italian media.

The Gunners were first linked with the Paraguayan when he was a youth player at Barcelona a decade ago. He has since had spells at a number of different teams in Italy and Spain.

Sanabria has been in decent form for Torino this season, scoring 12 goals in 31 Serie A appearances, and his performances are not just attracting the interest of Arsenal.

Italian champions Napoli and AC Milan are also believed to be keeping tabs on the forward so the London club may have a battle on their hands to secure his signature.

Why are Arsenal targeting Sanabria?

Manager Mikel Arteta may be considering the 27-year-old as a potential backup option for Gabriel Jesus.

Folarin Bologun is expected to be sold when he returns from his loan spell at Stade de Reims, while Eddie Nketiah hasn’t really provided the number of goals many were hoping, despite some good performances.

Sanabria is likely to cost around €25m (£21.7m), which is a pretty reasonable fee, and Arsenal could be hoping he can offer similar qualities to Jesus up front whenever the Brazilian is absent.
