Arsenal and Manchester United have both submitted proposals to Paris Saint-Germain striker Edinson Cavani, according to El Chiringuito (via metro.co.uk).
The Uruguayan international’s contract expires in the summer and is free to talk to foreign clubs about a move at the end of the season.
However, Atletico Madrid are believed to be the frontrunners to sign Cavani. The Spanish club want the 32-year-old to move during the January transfer window, and talks have reportedly taken place with PSG sporting director Leonardo.
The La Liga side have been keen to sign another striker with Diego Costa currently out injured, but it is believed that PSG are not willing to let Cavani leave before the summer.
With that being the case, Arsenal could still secure the Uruguayan on a pre-contract agreement, although it must be said the Gunners already have a number of strikers in the squad, including Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette.
