Arsenal and United chasing £50m Jerome Boateng

Arsenal are reportedly rivalling Manchester United over the signature of defender Jerome Boateng, with just days left in this summer’s transfer window.

It is understood that Emery wants to add a further centre-back to his squad this summer, and Mourinho has been known to be desperate to add a defender too – with Harry Maguire and Toby Alderweireld other known options.

Boateng has been highly touted to be on the move from Munich this summer, with the German champions apparently offering his services to clubs all year in an attempt to move him on.

Munich are well stocked in the centre-back position, and it’s fair to say Boateng has had his fair share of injuries as well as being close to 30-years-old.

As well as Arsenal and United, PSG are said to be interested in acquiring the Germany international – and Bayern are supposedly holding out for around £50m for their No.17.

Boateng’s form has not been great over the last year, and he had a really poor World Cup with the German’s (who didn’t?).

But the former Manchester City star is still considered one of the best centre-backs in the world, and would be a fantastic signing for whoever manages to get a deal for him completed.
