Arsenal And Two Italian Clubs Send Scouts To Watch Danish Under 21 Defender In Action

Arsenal have sent scouts to watch Sampdoria defender Joachim Andersen, according to reports in Italy.

The Danish Under 21 international has been getting a lot of praise for his performances, with his side only conceding four goals in their first eight Serie A games.

However, the Gunners are not the only club keeping an eye on Andersen. Both Inter Milan and Juventus are also said to have sent representatives to see the centre-half in action.

The 22-year-old signed from FC Twente in August 2017 but he only made eight appearances in all competitions last season.

Andersen did breakthrough into the starting eleven in late April, starting the final five league fixtures of the 2017/18 campaign.

Sampdoria manager Marco Giampaolo kept faith with him at the start of this season, and so far it appears the centre-back is well up to the task of playing in Serie A.

It’s likely that scouts will want to monitor Andersen to see if he can perform to a consistent level over the course of a full campaign.
