Arsenal And Spurs Join Race To Sign £34.5m Spanish Fullback

Arsenal and Tottenham are both interested in Benfica left-back Alejandro Grimaldo, according to A Bola. The Portuguese publication reports that the two London clubs and Italian side Napoli are keeping tabs on the Spaniard.

The fullback is believed to be valued at €40m (£34.5m) by his club and he has been in pretty decent form this season, having provided four assists in ten league appearances.

Even so, it seems unlikely that the Gunners will make Grimaldo a transfer priority considering they only signed Kieran Tierney from Celtic for £25m in the summer.

There could be room if Sead Kolasinac were to leave the Emirates, but it would be a surprise if the club shelled out so much for a replacement when there are other areas of the pitch that need to be addressed more urgently.

The centre-back position is still an area where Arsenal could improve, with the Gunners having already conceded 15 goals in 11 league games this campaign.
