Arsenal And Liverpool Told They Must Pay 34M To Snap Up Portuguese Playmaker

Valencia won’t sell Goncalo Guedes for less than €40m (£34m), according to La Razon. The Spanish website reports that Arsenal and Liverpool are interested in the Portuguese international but his club are not willing to offload the player on the cheap.

The La Liga side have already rejected offers from the likes of Wolves, Sevilla and Villarreal over the summer, with the highest reaching €25m (£21m).

However, Valencia paid Paris Saint-Germain €40m (£45m) for Guedes just over three years ago and they are not prepared to take a loss on a player who is still a key part of their plans.

The 24-year-old can play either as a number ten or on the wing, and he would undoubtedly add more depth to Gunners boss Mikel Arteta’s forward options.

Even so, Guedes’ record in front of goal isn’t spectacular. Since moving to Spain, the attacking midfielder has scored 25 goals and provided 26 assists in 144 appearances.
