The Gunners could possibly offload club captain Thomas Vermaelen with Manchester United interested in signing the wantaway defender. Arsenal will be short of options at the back if the Belgium defender moves on and Wenger has targeted replacements.

The North London side are keen to address their leaky defence and have targeted a move for Federico Fazio, according to the Daily Star. The 27-year-old was a rock at the back for the La Liga side last season and also helped the club with the Europa League last month.

The report suggests that Sevilla will be interested in a deal only if the concerned party can match their £8 million valuation of the player. The club have already sold Ivan Rakitic to Barcelona and will surely fight hard to keep hold of their other star players.
