Arsenal And Liverpool Battle Barcelona In Race To Secure Deal For German Wonderkid

Arsenal and Liverpool are interested in signing Red Bull Salzburg striker Karim Adeyemi, according to Transfermarkt.de. The German website claims that the two English clubs have joined Barcelona in the race to sign the 17-year-old.

The Catalan club have already had a €15m (£13m) bid turned down by Salzburg, with the player seen as one of Europe’s hottest young properties after winning a gold Fritz Walter Medal, which is handed out to the most exciting young German talent.

Adeyemi is actually on loan at FC Liefering in Austria’s second division at the moment, having scored five goals and provided four assists in ten appearances this season.

Liefering are effectively Salzburg’s feeder team, and he is expected to return to his parent club to become part of their first-team setup in the future.

However, Barcelona, in particular, are said to be very keen to secure Adeyemi, and the Gunners will need to make their move quickly if they want to sign the teenager.
