Arsenal could make a move for Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey in the January transfer window, according to reports in Spain.

The Gunners are not the only team interested in the 25-year-old, however, with Paris Saint-Germain also said to be ready to bid for the player.

Thomas has found game time hard to come by under manager Diego Simeone this season. The arrival of Rodri from Villarreal in the summer has meant the holding midfielder has started just three times.

It’s a stark contrast to last campaign when he played 50 matches in all competitions for Atletico, helping the Spanish side win the Europa League.

Simeone is reportedly a massive fan of Thomas, but the Ghanaian is said to be growing frustrated with his lack of game time and could seek to leave the club when the transfer window reopens.

Atletico are also reportedly looking to sign Juventus midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur which would push Thomas further down the pecking order at the Wanda Metropolitano.
