Arsenal And Chelsea Among Four PL Clubs Tracking Turkish International Shot Stopper

Arsenal are keeping tabs on Trabzonspor goalkeeper Ugurcan Cakir, according to reports in the Turkish media. The Gunners are one of four Premier League clubs who are said to be interested in the 24-year-old.

Chelsea are also thought to be looking at the Turkish international but Brighton and West Brom are reportedly the teams who have most recently sent scouts to watch the shot-stopper in action.

Cakir is a highly rated keeper and, despite his relatively young age, he has regularly captained Trabzonspor this season, helping the Super Lig club to fourth in the table; six points behind leaders Galatasaray.

Whether the Gunners are still actively looking at Cakir, it remains to be seen. The loan signing of Maty Ryan from Brighton means they do have a number two goalkeeper for the short term, but manager Mikel Arteta may be looking for greater competition for Bernd Leno next season.

Cakir has regularly been linked with a move to England over the past 18 months but it remains to be seen whether Arsenal will follow up their interest in the player.
