Arsenal and Aston Villa are both keeping tabs on Racing Genk striker Paul Onuachu, according to reports in the Italian media.

The 6ft 7 target man has been in decent form so far this campaign, racking up 12 goals in 18 appearances, and it appears that his progress is being monitored by Edu and his recruitment team.

Onuachu was first linked to the Gunners back in July when his agent confirmed that the Nigerian international was a “boyhood fan”. That would obviously mean the London club would be favourites ahead of Villa for the forward’s signature.

Even so, it remains to be seen whether Arsenal will follow up their interest in the player. West Ham also tried to sign Onuachu in the summer, only to be put off by the fee that Genk were demanding.

The Nigerian isn’t exactly the most technically gifted player and he is probably just one of a number of strikers that the Gunners are considering as a potential replacement for Alexandre Lacazette.
