Arsenal Among Three Clubs Who Have Been ‘In Contact’ With Chinese Super League Coach In Recent Weeks

Arsenal have been “in contact” with Shanghai SIPG head coach Vitor Pereira over the past few weeks, according to Sky Sports. The Portuguese has been linked with the vacant managerial post at the Emirates and it seems there have been discussions with the 51-year-old.

However, there are also two other Premier League teams who are keen on hiring the former Porto manager. Everton are very interested in him replacing Marco Silva and are said to be looking to hold talks within the next day or so.

Watford are also on the lookout for a new coach, following the sacking of Quique Sanchez Flores, but it does appear that the Toffees are currently the likeliest destination for Pereira.

The Portuguese courted controversy for his actions when he was Olympiakos manager in 2015, and the fact that he was one of the world’s best-paid coaches could also be another issue if the Gunners were looking to hire him.
