Arsenal Among ‘Several Top Clubs’ Pursuing Austrian Ace With 15 Goals And 8 Assists This Season

Arsenal are interested in RB Leipzig winger Marcel Sabitzer, according to Calciomercato.com. The Italian website reports the Gunners are one of “several top clubs” considering a move for the Austrian international.

North London rival Tottenham are also said to be keen on the 25-year-old, although it is believed the list of teams keeping tabs on the player is growing by the day due to his excellent form.

Sabitzer has scored 15 goals and provided eight assists in 35 appearances for Leipzig this campaign, and he was particularly impressive playing against Spurs in the Champions League earlier this week.

Playing in an unfamiliar central midfield role, the Austrian bagged himself two goals in a 3-0 win, captaining his team as they progressed to the quarter-finals of Europe’s premier competition for the first time.

It would be a surprise if Arsenal have Sabitzer at the top of their list of summer targets, considering the midfielder generally plays on the right-wing, where record signing Nicolas Pepe plays.
