Arsenal Among Four Clubs Tracking Italian Under 21 International Defender

Arsenal are keeping tabs on Atalanta defender Gianluca Mancini, according to reports in Italy.

The Gunners are believed to have sent a scout to watch the centre-back in action on Sunday as his side thrashed Inter Milan 4-1.

Mancini is being tracked by other clubs with Borussia Dortmund also having a representative in the stands to see the 22-year-old at the weekend.

It’s likely that both teams would have been impressed by what they saw. Not only did the Italian Under 21 international defend well, but he is also scored from a header.

Remarkably, in his last three Serie A games, Mancini has scored three goals and provided one assist despite playing as a centre-half.

The defender is only in his second full season at Atalanta, and it is his first campaign as a first team regular.

As well as Arsenal and Dortmund, there is also some interest from clubs in his native Italy, with Mancini’s weekend opponents Inter having previously scouted him, as well as Roma.
