Arsenal have joined Napoli, Inter and AC Milan in the race to sign Bologna midfielder Mattias Svanberg, according to reports in the Italian media.
The 22-year-old, who has 14 caps for Sweden, is in decent form, scoring two goals and contributing one assist in 13 appearances this season.
Svanberg is reportedly in the middle of negotiations over a new contract with Bologna but it is believed that the midfielder only wishes to extend his stay with the Serie A side for a further year.
Bologna were said to be keen on keeping him until at least 2025, but the player wants a deal that expires in 2024. With that being the case, his club would still be open to potential offers next summer, as long as a team meets their valuation.
It has been claimed that Svanberg could be available for around €15m (£12.8m), which seems like a reasonable price if Arsenal are seeking to reinforce their options in midfield.
