Arsenal are keeping tabs on Wolfsburg defender Micky van de Ven, according to CaughtOffside.com columnist Christian Falk.

The German journalist claims that the Gunners are just one of seven teams tracking the 21-year-old, along with Liverpool, Manchester City, Barcelona, Juventus, Inter Milan and Roma.

De Ven is known to be one of the quickest centre-backs in the Bundesliga, and he is left-footed, allowing him to play both as a centre-half and at left-back.

With Kieran Tierney’s future up in the air, it could well be the case that the Dutchman is being considered as one of the potential replacements. Although he isn’t a natural fullback, his ability to play multiple positions may have caught the attention of manager Mikel Arteta.

Falk claims that van de Ven may be sold if a bid of around €30m (£26m) is tabled this summer, which is approximately the same sort of figure that Tierney could fetch. We shall see how this transfer story unfolds.
