Arsenal Already Involved In Transfer Talks

Arsene Wenger has started negotiations for future possible transfers. The list is long and filled with promising players who hopefully will fill in the gaps which are present in Arsenal’s squad. According to Metro, some of those players have publicly expressed their desire to join the Gunners as soon as all parties involved reach an agreement. After Jackson Martinez, Newcastle’s Cheick Tiote hinted that he would accept an offer from the North Londoners.

The Ivorian looks like he is exactly what Arsenal need. He is a strong defensive midfielder who has a similar profile to that of Alex Song. He is in search of a new challenge and he is also looking to prove he is able to compete in tournaments like the Champions League which is a bit off-limits for Newcastle at the moment.

Tiote who is going to turn 29 next year, is a low budget solution which could turn out to be a pretty smart move. He has been playing in the Premier League for about 4 years now and has reached a certain level of experience. He is willing to leave and he is willing to fight for a spot in Wenger’s first team.

The Ivorian international is probably on top of the transfer list given Wenger’s lack of options. With Arteta struggling with injuries and with Flamini having trouble keeping up, Arsenal need Tiote just as much as he needs a new challenge. Hopefully the Gunners will not miss out on this great opportunity.
