Arsenal Ace Among The Six Nominees For PFA Young Player Of The Year

Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka has been nominated by his fellow professionals for the PFA Young Player of the Year award.

The 19-year-old has been joined on the shortlist by Chelsea’s Mason Mount, West Ham’s Declan Rice, Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold, Manchester United’s Mason Greenwood and Manchester City’s Phil Foden.

Saka had an outstanding season despite Mikel’s Arteta’s side struggling in the league. The teenager scored seven goals and contributed 11 assists in 46 appearances, firmly establishing himself as a key first-team player for the Gunners.

He was rewarded with his first senior England cap back in October, starting the 3-0 friendly win over Wales, and he has just been selected in Gareth Southgate’s final 26-man squad for this month’s European Championships.

Out of the six players nominated, Saka will face stiff competition from the likes of Foden and Rice for the prize, but he has deservedly been recognised as one of the best young talents in the country.
