Argentinian Ace ‘Prepared To Push’ For 40M Switch To Arsenal This Month

Norwich attacking midfielder Emi Buendia is “prepared to push” through a move to Arsenal before the end of the January transfer window, according to CBS Sports reporter James Benge.

The journalist, who was formally Football.London‘s Arsenal correspondent, claims that the Argentine would ask to leave Carrow Road were the Gunners to make a formal bid for him this month.

Buendia is reportedly already aware of the Gunners’ interest in him, following informal talks, but it remains to be seen whether the London club do actually firm up their interest in the 24-year-old.

Reports in the English press yesterday suggested that Norwich may hold out for as much as £40m for the playmaker, which would likely be outside Arsenal’s current transfer budget.

The Gunners have suffered financial losses due to the global health crisis and have also recently shelled out £45m on Thomas Partey. It means a number of fringe players will need to be sold before an offer could be tabled for Buendia.
