Argentine Star Opens Door To Arsenal Move After Admitting To Premier League Interest

Ajax left-back Nicolas Tagliafico has said he would be interested in making the move to the Premier League.

The Argentinian international has been linked with the likes of Arsenal and Atletico Madrid in recent weeks, and, whilst admitting he is keen to switch clubs this summer, he also acknowledged that a transfer to England would appeal to him:

“Yes, it’s flattering because I think it’s the most competitive league. When you are a child, the target is to come to Europe and play in a top league like the Premier League.”

Tagliafico only moved to Europe 13 months ago, following a £4m move from Independiente in his native Argentina. At 26 years of age, the fullback seems to be keen to make up for lost time.

His first full campaign at Ajax has been very successful, scoring five goals and providing six assists in 37 appearances for the Dutch club.

Tagliafico has helped his side displace PSV at the top of the Eredivisie table with a 4-1 win against William II at the weekend. They will next face Juventus in the quarter-finals of the Champions League on Wednesday night.
