Are you a true Arsenal fan?

Are you a true Arsenal fan?

Meet David. A 28 year old professional from North London. Every summer David pays a good percentage of his income for a season ticket at the Emirates and pays an extra few pounds each season on other Arsenal fixtures.

Each season, he spends a day shopping looking to purchase the latest official Arsenal shirt whilst making sure his premium television subscriptions are up to date so he doesn’t miss any games he can’t turn up to.

Next door to David we have Jim. Jim is also an Arsenal fan, he makes sure he pays for the cheapest forgery of the new Arsenal shirt, attends on or two games a season at the Emirates, but watches most of the games on the internet through livestreaming.

Over the last five years both David and Jim have done exactly the same thing but during each summer they are bemused by the clubs lack of serious activity in the transfer market.

David asks “I spend all this money each season and where does it go?”

Jim asks “Arsenal get all this money and can’t buy the best players!”

Whinging and moaning during the transfer season is just something that we do, all teams want the best players, but why should Jim expect so much of a club he does not really suport, but in fact simply goes about his day looking for the cheapest methods of watching the side and trying to find the best forged shirts he can find?

I guess the point I am making is that there are Arsenal fans all over the World. Some cannot get to the stadium each week, fair enough. But how many of those who cannot get to the stadium, watch the games on live streaming most of the time, but then moan when manager Arsene Wenger purchases a player that they do not rate?

True Arsenal fans may not be able to get to the match, it may well be impossible, but you are not supporting them by watching the games for free on live streaming, and you are not supporting them by buying fake unofficial shirts.

How true an Arsenal fan are you? Are you a David, or are you a Jim?
