Are These Two Players Wenger’s Next Big Transfers?

Wenger is finally looking keen on signing more than one star-quality player per transfer window. Xhaka’s arrival has resolved any issue that might emerge during next season and even increased the quality of the lot as the Swiss international is one of the most promising youngsters in European football. All is left now is for Wenger to sign a striker and possibly a defender.

There is a rumor that even though might sound farfetched is actually a brilliant solution for Arsenal. According to Metro, Wenger could trigger Jamie Vardy’s release clause which would allow the Premier League winner to leave Leicester despite being under contract for another five years. Even though what Leicester did was incredible, there’s no guarantee they will be able to maintain the same rhythm next season as well. Vardy is 29 and it would be the perfect moment for him to move to Emirates. It would be perfect for Arsenal as well to have the England international around for the next couple of seasons. He is different from any of the players currently available at the Emirates and he is the type of striker Wenger needs. Right now, there are no available no.9s with Premier League experience, who are willing to join the Gunners. Rumors of Morata being signed, although appealing, don’t offer the same rush rumors about the possibility of seeing a quick, efficient and very energetic striker fight for a spot in the starting eleven with Giroud. If the media has it right and Vardy’s release clause is £22million Wenger should go for it.

There’s one other player who was recently linked to Arsenal and might be one of the most surprising moves of the summer. Brazilian striker Gabriel Barbosa who most say will be as great as Neymar could be interested in joining the Gunners. He is also scouted by Chelsea and Manchester United who are aware of how valuable this 19-year-old is. The problem with Barbosa who is an amazing striker is that he comes with a pretty steep release clause. Apparently he will cost Arsenal £40million which is a lot for someone who comes directly from Brazil. It is known that South American youngsters sometimes have problems adapting to Premier League football without any previous experience playing in Europe. Having a Brazilian striker next to Sanchez and Ozil could represent a massive flair boost to Wenger’s attack though.
