Atletico seem to be locked on Santi Cazorla who could return to Spain after spending just two years playing for Arsenal. According to the Daily Express, the key to Cazorla’s departure is in Arda Turan’s hands who is currently targeted by several Premier League teams. The Turkish international’s transfer is expected to fund Atletico who despite having some of the most sought after players on the transfer market, has yet to sell any of them.

With Diego Costa’s move to Chelsea still on hold, it is more likely to see Arda Turan leaving for either Manchester or Liverpool. Arsenal could then sell Cazorla. The Spanish international made 89 Premier League appearances in which he scored 16 goals. Even so, he always gave the sensation that if not for Wenger’s squad problems, he would have never made so many appearances.

Letting Cazorla go could bring Arsenal an extra £18million to add to their transfer budget which up until now, remains untouched. Wenger has yet to make any moves despite the fact that Premier League rivals, Chelsea, Manchester United and Liverpool have already started signing top-end players. The money coming from Atletico could go to Real as Di Maria was linked to a possible move to the Emirates. Hopefully Wenger will start making some moves as the start of the Premier League is just 7 weeks away.
