Antonio Sanabria Keen On Leaving Barcelona For Arsenal

Antonio Sanabria is one of the most promising South American players currently evolving in Europe. The 17 year old has already made his debut for the Paraguayan national team and managed to score twice for Barcelona B in his 8 appearances. The striker came to Barcelona in 2009 and made his senior debut this year. According to the Daily Mail he has made the transfer wish-list of some of the biggest clubs in Europe. Arsenal look interested in landing the youngster who could take the same road as Fabregas and a few other players who moved from Barca to join the Gunners.

Even if Roma have also expressed their interest for Sanabria, Arsenal seem to have a better chance of signing the Paraguayan. It is well known that Wenger is a strong supporter of young players who are given enough time and chances to prove themselves no matter their age. It also looks like the Gunners are willing to offer the 17 year old a better contract. Money will not be an issue considering the fact that Sanabria is valued at around £300,000. The transfer is due next week according to the player’s agent who said the deal will be finalized as soon as both federations offer the necessary clearances.

If Sanabria joins the North London team he will be the 6th youngster to leave Barca for Arsenal. Fabregas left Spain when he was 16 and became team captain. Even though he returned to Barcelona he still managed 303 appearances in which he scored 57 times for the Emirates side.

Jon Toral is looked to be one of Arsenal’s most promising transfers of 2011 but unfortunately injuries have kept him from performing for Wenger’s side. The 19 year old also left Barcelona in order to perform under Wenger’s guidance.

Hector Bellerin and Julio Pleguezuelo Selva also moved to London from Spain and hope to make it to the Premier League as soon as possible. Both players have a defensive profile and will probably get more chances to perform during the 2014-2015 season considering they are currently 18 and 16 years of age respectively.
