Arsene Wenger has admitted that he tried to sign Jadon Sancho when he was Arsenal manager.
The Frenchman was doing punditry work on Borussia Dortmund’s game against Tottenham last night when he said:
“I wanted to take him from Man City when he didn’t get the games. I tried to lure him because he’s from London. I tried to get him to Arsenal. He’s one of the best players of his generation.”
Fans on Twitter were frustrated that Wenger didn’t work harder to get Sancho to make the switch to the Emirates:

Sancho has been in superb form for Dortmund this campaign having scored eight goals and provided 13 assists in 29 appearances.
The 18-year-old moved to the Bundesliga club from Manchester City for £8m in July 2017 and has established himself as a first-team regular.
Sancho made his senior international debut for England back in October, making his first appearance in a UEFA Nations League match against Croatia.
The winger made his first start for his country in the 3-0 win over the USA in a friendly match back in November. He was credited with an assist for Trent Alexander-Arnold’s goal.
