Arsenal and Liverpool are considering a move for Southampton left-back Matt Targett, according to reports in the UK.
The 23-year-old will be allowed to leave the Saints this summer for the right price, and the Gunners are said to be one of the clubs who have enquired about the player.
Fans on Twitter are not particularly enthusiastic about a swoop for Targett:
Another nobody.

10M isn’t cut price to be honest. That’s 1/4th our budget. π

I would really love Arsenal to get our British core back. Butland, Maddison, Fraser and Targett wont be bad additions.

Leicester, Newcastle, Fulham and Aston Villa have all reportedly registered their interest as well, with the fullback said to be keen to leave St Mary’s in order to get more first-team football.
Ryan Bertrand is Southampton’s first choice at left-back at the moment, and it appears that Targett will not be able to displace him from the starting line up.
The former England Under 21 international is an attacking fullback and could well suit a left wingback role if Gunners boss Unai Emery continues with a 3-5-2 system next season.
