Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has revealed Arsenal’s sprint statistics via social media, and the Gunners fans can’t believe who came in at third place.
The former Borussia Dortmund striker took to Instagram on Thursday to share the results after Unai Emery’s men enjoyed a bit of friendly competition in training.
To no surprise, speedster Aubameyang came in first place, while Hector Bellerin – who has also famous for his rapid runs down the right-flank – came in second.
Bottom of the pile were Matteo Guendouzi (who Aubameyang took great pleasure in mocking for his lacked of speed on Instagram) Mohamed Elneny and Lucas Torreira, but the biggest surprise was who came in at third place.
Just behind Bellerin, and ahead of the likes of Alex Iwobi, Alexandre Lacazette, Danny Welbeck and Henrikh Mkhtiaryan came none other than summer signing and renowned tug-boat Sokratis Papastathopoulos.
The Greece International, who signed from Borussia Dortmund earlier in the summer, has failed to show any glimpse of such pace in his thus far short Arsenal career, and was beaten in behind twice during the weekend’s 3-2 defeat to Chelsea.
The 30-year-old was unable to keep pace with both Pedro and Alvaro Morata as the Blues sailed into a 2-0 lead after just 20 minutes, however, as Aubameyang’s post has now made clear, he clearly isn’t as slow as he appeared on at Stamford Bridge on Saturday …
