Agents Reveals Arsenal Have ‘Watched’ Kosovo Captain But No ‘Official Proposals’ Have Been Made

The agent of Napoli centre-back Amir Rrahmani has revealed that Arsenal have been scouting the defender in Serie A this season.

Kosovo’s captain moved to Verona last summer before securing a £12m switch to his current team in January. He was then loaned back to Verona for the remainder of the campaign. Despite the recent transfer, though, Adrian Aliaj says the Gunners had taken a look at him:

“Arsenal have watched him, as they have done with other players who play in the Italian championship. But they have not made any phone calls or official proposals.”

It would be a big surprise if Arsenal do make a move for Rrahmani, especially as Napoli will be keen to keep him after only recently signing the player.

In any case, reliable journalist David Ornstein believes Mikel Arteta will prioritise the signing of Pablo Mari on a permanent basis before even considering a move for another centre-half.

The Spaniard is currently on loan from Flamengo until the end of the season, but the Gunners can make the deal permanent for just £10m.
