Agent Rubbishes Claims That 36 Cap Italian International Could Make 29M Switch To Arsenal

Arsenal are unlikely to be interested in Torino striker Andrea Belotti as they are focusing on strengthening other areas of the pitch, according to Giulio Tedeschi.

The FIFA agent does not represent the 27-year-old but he says that he knows the Gunners are more interested in signing a winger than a forward this summer:

“The rumour has also circulated here in England but it is a hypothesis that I would feel excluded, the Gunners are looking for a left-winger on the market and in attack, on paper, they already have players who are very suitable for Arteta’s game.”

Belotti, who has 36 caps for Italy, was linked with a €34m (£29m) move to the Emirates earlier this week, but it seems that the striker is not on the club’s radar at the moment.

Tedeschi’s assessment that signing a forward is not a priority is a fair one. Arsenal have made progress in signing a left-back and a central midfielder, but a new right-back, another centre-half and a replacement for Granit Xhaka could all be needed as well.

Later in the summer, if it becomes clear that neither Eddie Nketiah nor Alexandre Lacazette are open to signing new contract, then going after a new number nine may become a more pressing concern.
