Agent Reveals Arsenal May Not Be Argentinian Star’s First Choice This Summer

Nicolas Tagliafico

The agent of Ajax defender Nicolas Tagliafico has suggested that a move to Serie A is the likeliest outcome for his client this summer.

The Argentinian international had previously hinted that a switch to the Premier League would interest him, but Ricardo Schlieper has made it known that Tagliafico’s future may well lie in Italy. Asked about a potential switch to Inter Milan, he said:

“Inter and Italian football are always attractive destinations for Argentine players. Let’s not forget, like it was once said, that we’re Italians who speak Spanish. Everything’s very familiar. It’s like being at home.”

“The management of our players in your country is by Branchini. Tagliafico has always been our priority for Italy, but in the most appropriate moment, we will find the right place. We will see what happens.”

Arsenal have been consistently linked with the fullback over the past few months. With Nacho Monreal’s contract expiring at the end of the season, Unai Emery will be left with only one recognised left-back in Sead Kolasinac this summer. The likes of Liverpool and Real Madrid have also been mentioned as possible destinations.

Tagliafico has been part of an Ajax side that has battled its way past both Real Madrid and Juventus into the semi-finals of the Champions League.

The defender has played a massive role in helping his team reach this stage, having started 13 of their 16 games in the competition this campaign.
