Agent Of Ligue One Starlet Says Arsenal Transfer Hangs In The Balance

The agent of Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Christopher Nkunku believes a move to Arsenal this month is not looking likely.

Speaking on French TV Jose-Pierre Fanfan confirmed that there is interest in the 21-year-old from the Gunners but the financial restrictions on the London club are stopping the deal from going ahead:

“There is a real interest from Arsenal for Nkunku, but the discussions are quite complicated. There are restrictions from Arsenal’s side, they cannot do a transfer in the middle of the season.”

“It is still being discussed with PSG, things could still happen in the next 48 hours, but as I said, the fact that I am here means that it does not look good.”

Nkunku worked under Arsenal boss Unai Emery at PSG but has struggled for regular game time under current coach Thomas Tuchel.

The Ligue One side are reportedly holding out for €20m for the Frenchman but the Gunners are only interested in a loan deal with an option to buy in the summer.

Nkunku is just one option that Arsenal are considering in the final days of the transfer window.

The London club are said to be in talks about signing Yannick Carrasco from Chinese side Dalian Yifang while they are close to finalising a loan deal for Barcelona’s Denis Suarez.
