Agent Of Ligue One Star Speaks Out Following Reports Of £72m Arsenal Offer

The agent of Lille winger Nicolas Pepe has confirmed that the Ivorian international has a number of proposals to leave the Ligue One side.

Multiple reports in France have suggested that Arsenal have made an €80m (£72m) bid for the 23-year-old, although those claims have been denied in the English media.

Pepe has also been linked with the likes of Liverpool, Everton and Manchester United this summer, but Samir Khiat revealed that PSG could also be in the mix:

“The aim is for him to sign in the right place. PSG is a possibility. He is wanted by a considerable number of clubs.”

“For him, the most important thing is to be wanted and to go to a good club in which he will play and continue to progress.”

Considering the Gunners’ limited transfer budget, a move for Pepe does appear to be unlikely, especially with reports coming out of Brazil that the club have enquired about signing Brazil winger Everton from Gremio.

There’s no doubt Pepe would be an excellent addition if he were to move to the Emirates, but I think it’s probably best to treat any reports of a bid for the wide man with a huge pinch of salt.
