Barcelona will meet with the agent of Emerson Royal on Friday to determine the fullback’s future, according to reports in the Catalan media.

The La Liga side have decided to snap up the right-back from Real Betis for €9m (£7.75m) but it is not yet known whether they will then sell the Brazilian on for a profit.

Barca officials could let Emerson and his representatives know later this week, with Arsenal, AC Milan, Inter Milan and Bayern Munich all waiting to hear the final decision.

It is believed that a minimum sale price has already been agreed. €25m (£21.5m) will be needed to secure the 22-year-old’s services, and it remains to be seen whether the Gunners can afford such an outlay.

The London club have been linked with a number of right-backs in recent weeks, with Ajax’s Noussair Mazraoui the latest to be mentioned, so it is not yet clear whether Emerson is seen as the club’s number one target or not.
