Agent Admits Arsenal May Not Need To Pay £22m In Order To Secure Guinean Midfield Enforcer

The agent of Olympiakos holding midfielder Mady Camara has revealed that the 23-year-old could be sold for below his €25m (£22m) valuation when the transfer window reopens.

Arsenal and AC Milan have been linked with a move for the Guinean international in recent days, while Sheffield United have also been credited with an interest, but Pierre Issa claims the global health crisis will impact the player’s price tag:

“There is not a favourite country or league to go to because the main issue for him is to play in a great team, continue to improve and win titles. This can happen in Italy as in England or Germany.”

“Valued at 25 million euros? With the crisis that is affecting the whole world and not only football, we cannot know what the budget of the clubs will be, but they will probably go down. So today it is difficult to say a price.”

It does appear that Gunners boss Mikel Arteta is keen on signing another defensive midfielder this summer. Thomas Partey has been heavily linked with a switch to the Emirates, while there has been speculation that Lucas Torreira could leave the club.

With Camara expected to be available at a knockdown price, a move for the Guinean may make more sense than tabling a bid for Thomas who could cost two to three times more. When you take into account Arsenal’s current financial difficulties, the Olympiakos star does seem to be a more likely target at the moment.
