A Transfer Arsenal Desperately Need

Arsenal continue to be recognised this summer for the amount of transfers that they have failed to complete.

The Gunners have been in Asia this past week taking on the Indonesian Dream Team, Vietnam and just yesterday Nagoya Grampus in Tokyo. Manager Arsene Wenger has continuously been questioned by reporters for his inability to pull off a transfer move, even with plenty of money to spend with new lucrative commercial deals. Gonzalo Higuain and Fernando Torres are just a few of the stars that have been speculated to move to the north London club. However, both of those deals have fallen through.

The question remains whether the Gunners could pull off a transfer that makes them a legitimate title contender in the upcoming Premier League season. Luis Suarez would certainly help that cause.

After a controversial end to his season at Liverpool, sources say a Suarez transfer to Arsenal is close. Martin Chaquero, a South American journalist who has covered Suarez says the dramatic transfer is all but done. Charquero tweeted on Monday saying: ‘Luis Suarez is very close to Arsenal’.

If the rumours are true and all of a sudden the Uruguayan is wearing the Gunners shirt, this would certainly make Arsenal fans forget about the lack of transfers this summer. That is however if Suarez were to live up to expectations and not carry all the extra baggage that he constantly is bringing upon himself.

The deal for the striker is said to be in the £40 million price range, so needless to say this deal could make or break Wenger’s club for years to come. However, Liverpool seem reluctant to sell and the Gunners will have to up their offer once more to get their man.
