Arsenal are plotting to make a move for Bayer Leverkusen winger Moussa Diaby before the transfer window closes, according to reports in England.
The Frenchman has been linked with a switch to the Gunners in recent months but fans on Twitter have been debating whether the club should be focusing their efforts on signing another forward this summer:
That guy is a relentless football machine. I watched a compilation of his performances during the halftime of Dortmund's game with Leverkusen.
He practically makes defenders beg for Oxygen.— Phoenix164💧 (@phoenix_164) August 7, 2022
Why more attackers? When will we invest in our CENTRAL MIDFIELD??

He isn’t better than Pepe. Get Tielemans and Gakpo for same price instead.

This would be an UNBELIEVABLE deal. The boy is a star in the making

The thing is, no matter how we paint it… This guy is another Nicolas Pepe and we must try all possible means to stop it.
We need a midfielder (CMF), bring Tielesman and if we must sign a winger, it should be one with a proven track record.
We don't need a winger in my opinion.— ANTHONY SAMUEL IKOJO🇳🇬 (@SAMUELIKOJO) August 6, 2022
Perfect competition for Saka

He gives me so much of Pepe vibes!

I feel like we won’t have any money left for a midfielder and that seems to be a more pressing matter

Diaby is believed to be valued at around €75m (£63m) by Leverkusen, which would make him a very expensive purchase for the Gunners.
The player also stated last month that he intends to stay in Germany for at least another season, so it’s probably wise to take these reports about Arsenal’s interest with a large pinch of salt.
The 23-year-old is someone who would fit the bill in terms of his profile, though. He is comfortable playing off either flank and he has a good scoring record, having bagged 17 in all competitions for Leverkusen last campaign.
