Arsenal have joined Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid in the race to sign Ajax left-back Nicolas Tagliafico, according to reports in Spain.
The Gunners are said to be looking at possible replacements for Nacho Monreal whose contract expires at the end of the season.
Fans on Twitter had a mixed response to Arsenal’s interest in Tagliafico:
Tagliafico is more than a replacement. It is a massive upgrade.

Valued at 22 million. in transfer market could go to 25. I'd love to have him at Arsenal but doubt Emery will spend half of his budget on one player. pic.twitter.com/zhAlycUAjl

The Gunners will want to improve right across the back four when recruiting this summer, and it seems Tagliafico could be a top target.
The Argentinian international has been in good form this season, having scored five goals and provided five assists in 33 appearances for Ajax.
At 26 years of age, he is a good deal younger than Monreal and has potential to improve his game as he heads into his peak years.
Tagliafico could also offer a good alternative to Sead Kolasinac. The Bosnian has been excellent going forward for the Gunners this season but he has been suspect defensively.
