Real Sociedad are keen on securing the services of Arsenal defender Nacho Monreal before the Spanish transfer window closes on Monday.
It is believed the Gunners may be open to letting the 33-year-old leave with the Spaniard’s contract expiring at the end of the season. Some supporters on Twitter believe the club should look to keep Monreal, for the time being at least:
No he is a good servant of the club and always gives 7 out of 10 performance

For only £3m? No way!

I think I would, if we can get a decent fee for him, but as it is right now we kinda really need him…

While other fans think it is time to offload the fullback:
Yes he's deadwood ..We already have Tierney and Kola as LB , Monreal was never a CB neither .

It was obvious one would go when we were bidding for Tierney

Yes definitely he's past he's prime, we can acquire younger, better talent out there.

Yes let him go home.been great for the arsenal

It's not a matter of would we? At 33 and done his best for the club, and the club has already gotten his replacement, which would limiting his playtime, I think it's best he goes. He has always been a professional.

Monreal has played in all of Arsenal’s matches so far this season, but with Kieran Tierney returning to fitness quicker than expected, it may prompt the Gunners into selling the veteran, especially as Sead Kolasinac will be able to provide backup.
Tierney has come through two matches unscathed over the past week. He played 80 minutes for the Under 23s against Everton on Friday night and played the full 90 minutes as the Under 21s lost on penalties to Northampton in the EFL Trophy.
