A Fit Wilshere For The Whole Season Will Be Massive For Arsenal

The 21-year old Jack Wilshere has already been touted as the next man in-line to take over the armband in the coming seasons. The midfielder is now considered as the heartbeat of the Gunners and has huge pressure on his still young shoulders to bring Arsenal back to the glory days which were enjoyed by the class of The Invincibles squad of 2003-2004.

He came through the famed Arsenal youth ranks and immediately made an impact in his debut season in the senior squad. He lined up alongside the likes of Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri and still managed to outshine them on certain occasions, most notably the 2-1 come-back-from-behind UEFA Champions League victory against Barcelona at the Emirates Stadium. That performance confirmed his status as one of the most promising future midfielders of the world.

However, his meteoric growth was cruelly halted by an injury sustained in the pre-season of 2011-2012. So much so, that he missed the entire campaign and came back straight in the middle of the previous season. An 18-month lay-off was certain to have its long-term effects on Wilshere, as he crept his way to full fitness notwithstanding a few bruises and bumps. He has now managed to finally get a full pre-season under his belt and is looking sharper than ever.

ESPN suggest that a 100% Wilshere is the best possible thing Arsenal could hope for as they approach the start of next season. His quality is undoubted, and his commitment towards the club is unparalleled. One thing is certain, that Wilshere will always give his absolute best when he steps out wearing that cannon emblazoned red jersey.

Do you think that a raring-to-go Wilshere will help Arsenal’s cause enough to offset the lack of serious signings? Do you see him being as influential or perhaps even more than he has ever been before? Surely having a fit Wilshere for the whole season and from the start of the season is like signing a top drawer player in itself so it is not all gloom and doom from the Emirates.
