Arsenal will consider making a move for Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante, according to The Mirror.

The English tabloid claim that the France international is “another option” that the Gunners are looking at, alongside West Ham’s Declan Rice and Brighton’s Moises Caicedo, to strengthen their midfield.

Kante’s contract with Chelsea expires at the end of June and, at the moment, he will be a free agent in a matter of weeks. There have been reports that the Blues are keen to extend his stay at Stamford Bridge but, so far, no new deal has been agreed.

The 32-year-old has had his fair share of injury problems in recent years. He spent seven months on the sidelines this season after undergoing surgery on a serious hamstring injury.

For that reason, Chelsea are reluctant to hand him a lengthy extension. Whether Arsenal would be prepared to take a gamble and offer him the sort of contract he wants, we shall have to wait and see.
