“I Don’t Know What He’s Doing” Ian Wright Slams Arsenal Star After Bizarre Incident Against Wolves

Arsenal legend Ian Wright has criticised goalkeeper Bernd Leno for his bizarre sending off in the 2-1 defeat to Wolves last night.

The Gunners were already down to ten men after David Luiz’s harsh red card when Leno came out of his area to clear a ball deliberately with his hand. Wright delivered his verdict on the incident after the match:

“I don’t know what he’s doing there, he’s got himself in all sorts of problems. You can see it on his face there. He’s come out, he’s mistimed it, it’s skidded off the surface and it’s an obvious red card.”

It was a moment of madness from Leno and he will now miss an important match against Aston Villa this weekend. As well as ending Arsenal’s chances of getting a point at Molineux, he has also jeopardised the club’s prospects of getting a result at Villa Park.

New reserve team keeper Matty Ryan is facing a battle to be fit for Saturday’s game so there is every chance that manager Mikel Arteta will have to pick Runar Runarsson from the start. Considering the Icelandic keeper’s less than stellar displays in an Arsenal shirt so far, that is a major worry for supporters.
