Arsenal midfielder Dani Ceballo’s performances have come under some scrutiny with the Spaniard having contributed just one assist in seven appearances so far this season.
There were a number of supporters on Twitter who were, once again, critical of his display against Manchester City on Sunday, but there were others who came to the 24-year-old’s defence:
He came into the game late. Dani Ceballos is the soul of the team.

Ceballos is extremely slow.

Think his biggest issue is not taking those calculated risks, just too conservative at times.

The only draw back in his game is he seems to pass back/sideways alot. He has the talent to be creative

Ceballos is a bit conservative on the ball at times and, the fact that he is partly in the team to make forward passes and take risks, has led to a certain amount of criticism in regards to his creativity.
Manager Mikel Arteta is a big fan of the player, though, having started him in four of the Gunners’ seven games this campaign. There is no doubt that the player is improving, especially in terms of the defensive side of his game, but is it enough for him to keep his place?
With new signing Thomas Partey waiting in the wings, it will be interesting to see whether the Ghanaian will come in to be Ceballos’s partner in midfield or his replacement.
