Arsenal Lead Chase For 17 Year Old Spanish Ace Who Arteta Is A Big Fan Of

Arsenal are keen on signing Rayo Vallecano winger Roberto Cornago, according to AGDeportes.com. The Spanish website claims the 17-year-old is attracting interest from a number of clubs in England, but the Gunners are said to be leading the race for his signature.

He generally plays on the right-wing, although he can also play from the left-hand side, and manager Mikel Arteta is reportedly a fan of the player. It is believed that he will be the driving force behind the London club bringing him to the Emirates.

Cornago has yet to play for Rayo’s first team, with the teenager still playing in the Spanish side’s youth setup. He has been courted by Real Madrid in the past, but he eventually decided against joining the La Liga giants in 2017.

If he did move to England this summer, it would almost certainly be to join up with Per Mertesacker’s academy, as he looks to continue his development as a player.
