Arsenal Linked To Lyon Striker

Lyon probably have one of the best under-the-radar lots in Europe right now. Few are talking about the gold mine from Parc Olympique Lyonnais which makes rumors regarding Arsenal’s interest for Bruno Genesio’s players even more interesting than usual. While everyone knows the star of the team is without a doubt Alexandre Lacazette who has also been on Wenger’s wanted-list for some time now, only a handful know the French side has several other hidden gems.

According to ESPN, Arsenal could be starting negotiations for one of Lyon’s amazing players. His name – Rachid Ghezzal. This 24-year-old Algerian who also played for France’s U20 team is quite the interesting left-footed winger. He is extremely classy with the ball, he often finds himself in front of goal and what is even more interesting about him is that he does get back to help the defense despite going inside the adversary’s box quite often. He is fast – not Bellerin fast but still quite quick – and he can shoot from great distance with incredible accuracy. Coincidence or not, his style is very similar to that of fellow compatriot Riyad Mahrez.

What is even more interesting about Ghezzal is that he can play almost anywhere in the attack. He has qualities which are very similar to that of Alexis Sanchez meaning that he has the stamina to play as a winger, the passing quality to play behind the striker or the efficiency to perform up front. It is true that one of the main reasons for him being linked to a transfer is the fact that he isn’t getting much time on the pitch, issue which might not be resolved at the Emirates. Even so it would be a step up for Ghezzal who might as well try his luck with Arsenal. He would be a good acquisition for Wenger even though the Gunners don’t necessarily need another forward right now.
