£8.6m Rated Hungarian Starlet Admits It’s A “Huge Honour” To Be Linked With Arsenal Switch

Red Bull Salzburg midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai says he is flattered by the calibre of clubs showing interest in him.

Reports in Spain last month stated that Arsenal, Juventus, Bayern Munich and Inter Milan were pursuing the Hungarian, with the player said to be valued at €10m (£8.6m) by his club.

Asked about the rumours, Szoboszlai said he was very happy to be linked with clubs like the Gunners:

“Of course, it is a huge honour to be linked with giant clubs like Juventus, Bayern or Arsenal, but at this stage of my career, I only focus on my current duties and my development at Salzburg.”

Szoboszlai only broke into Salzburg’s first team at the start of the campaign after making his senior debut at the back end of last season.

His most notable contributions so far have been an assist in the 3-1 second leg win against Napoli in the Europa League last 16 tie, and a goal on his first league start against FC Wacker last Sunday.

Szoboszlai has also been fast-tracked at international level, having been handed his first senior cap for Hungary in a Euro 2020 qualifier against Slovakia on Thursday, at the age of 18.
