Adams joined Arsenal at a young age

Tony Adams

The defender signed up as a schoolboy in 1980 and made his debut three years later at the age of 17 in a First Division game against Sunderland.

It took Adams another three years to become a regular starter for the Gunners, and it didn’t take long for him to win his first trophy; the League Cup in 1987. He went on to be named PFA Young Player of the Year the same year.
