Arsenal could revive their interest in Christopher Nkunku, according to reports in the German media. The Frenchman was a target for previous Gunners boss Unai Emery but the attacking midfielder has since moved on from Paris Saint-Germain to play for RB Leipzig.
However, his asking price has skyrocketed since he moved to Germany with the Bundesliga side said to be demanding around €40m (£35.7m) for the player. Some fans on Twitter think it would be a good move to sign the 22-year-old, whilst others were asking why he wasn’t signed during Emery’s tenure:
€40m for him? No thanks

I know most people only know him from the Champions league games but I watch him in the bundesliga every week and i can tell you that he would be a huge signing. Everytime he is on the ball something happens, so creative and talented!

Nkunku is cold. That would be a solid signing.

It would certainly have been cheaper to have got Nkunku eighteen months ago. At the time, PSG were asking for around €20m, half of what Leipzig are demanding now. The German club actually managed to snap him up for €15m so they will be making an even bigger profit on the deal if they sell him.
Whether Arsenal will actually follow up their interest with an actual bid for the France Under 21 international this time, we shall have to wait and see.
