Positive #1 – Pressing from the front

One of the most notable aspects of the first half on Sunday was Arsenal’s intensity out of possession.

Of course, in a North London derby, you would expect Arteta’s men to be in their opponent’s faces but there was a deliberate intent to close down Tottenham from the off.

Spurs like playing out from the back so the Gunners tried to disrupt their flow as much as possible, and it worked very well, especially before half-time.

The gilt-edged opportunity that Gabriel Jesus missed was a direct result of their pressing from the front.
