Wilshere Surgery Comes Earlier Than Expected

Good news came from Arsenal’s medical staff who informed Wenger that Wilshere will be up and running for the game against Monaco despite undergoing surgery. The midfielder was missed during the clash against the French side who bashed the Gunners by scoring three important goals at the Emirates. Hopefully, Wilshere’s fighting spirit will help the Londoners make a comeback which is definitely possible as long as they dedicate themselves to winning. According to SkySports, the fact that the England international will be available in just a couple of days is not uncommon given the minor importance of the surgery.

Wilshere had to speed up the surgery which was scheduled for the end of the season. This could be an issue considering that a couple more months would have probably been more efficient for his recovery. The Gunner did not want to give up on the games that are left before the summer though. Apparently it would have been risky if he continued to play with the screws inserted in his ankle. Wenger told the press that the 23 year old showed irritation around the injury affected area, irritation which was caused by the screws. Given the thin squad Arsenal have and the major issues which come up when lining up the midfield section of the team, both Wenger and Wilshere decided not to wait until June.

This decision could be an important one given the Wilshere’s injury history. He missed a lot of games and was seriously set back because of the time spent in recovery.
