Wilshere Out Until Next Year?

The 23-year-old England international has not recovered as expected and may end up not playing until the end of the year. Wilshere is currently waiting to see how his recovery progresses in order to determine of surgery is necessary or not. If a serious intervention will be the case, then the midfielder will be spending Christmas at home and will be expected back probably in January.

It is yet to be seen if Wilshere can bounce back from what is now his 6th major injury. It all started in 2011 when he sprained his ankle. He was out for almost 2 months right after which he suffered a fatigue fracture which ruled him out for a total of 231 days. Injuries have kept him out for a total of 259 days throughout the years and seemed to have finally be left behind by Wilshere in March. Unfortunately, the hairline crack in his calf bone has sent him to the infirmary once again.

Despite handling the last few games in an excellent matter in terms of his squad, Wenger would have made a lot of use out of a fully functional Wilshere. The youngster has had some impressive performances for Arsenal and could have been a good alternate choice to have available to Ramsey in the early season.
